3 Times Olympic Gold Medalist Bradley Wiggins CBE Recommends Westin Gourmet
Ask any athlete about their training schedule and they will tell you how important it is to follow a healthy and nutritious diet.
Needing plenty of protein to fuel their muscles, repair tissue damage and replace lost nutrients; ensuring that they follow a diet that is enriched in high quality, lean proteins is vital.
And Olympic cyclist Bradley Wiggins CBE couldn’t agree with this statement more...
In a recent interview with our Westin Gourmet team, 3 time gold medal winner Wiggins attributed much of his success at the 2008 Beijing Olympics and last years Tour de France on the quality of the meat he eats:

“High protein in the diet is extremely important for professional sportsmen. Apart from carbohydrate intake, good quality protein consumption is of equal importance. Protein intake following a tough workout helps the muscles to recover and help strengthen the muscle for the next session.”
Continuing, Wiggins revealed how frustrated he has become with water injected chicken:
“In most high street supermarkets now you tend to notice that a lot of the chicken has had a degree of processing done to it, but what they don’t realise when they do this is that they are dampening the quality of the protein.”
When asked would buying from a company like Westin Gourmet help him keep to a high protein diet, Wiggins went on to divulge why bulk suppliers are an athletes dream:

“Buying in bulk from a quality food supplier like Westin Gourmet, where you know the quality of the product is guaranteed means that my nutrition and the quality of my protein intake is not compromised. It also means I am able to make savings financially.”
Bradley Wiggins CBE sampled our tender 100 Day Australian Ribeye, chunky Cumberland Sausages and fully flavoured Chicken Fillets...
Based on the feedback from Bradley we created Gourmet Protein Packs especially for athletes and bodybuilders. Great taste, no added water and high in protein.
